The Voices of El Shaddai

Streaming Concert Coming in September

As many of you know, The Voices of El Shaddai, led and founded by our own Gail Ragland, was recently bestowed the Jean Laney Harris Folk Heritage Award by the S.C. Arts Commission.

We are going to be celebrating this magnificent gospel choir group and their cultural contributions to our area with a concert coming to a streaming device near you in September! The concert will be filmed on our stage in late August, and streamed for our audiences, who will be able to view for free via online registration.

Jeffrey Reeves, the Arts Center’s CEO/President said, “We are thrilled to be celebrating the music, tradition, and cultural significance of The Voices of El Shaddai with this concert! The Arts Center is extremely proud of the group’s well-deserved recognition.”

The Arts Center Spotlighted in Broadway World

Interview with Cassies Maurer

Read the interview about the Arts Center by Broadway World Blogger Cassie Maurer! Cassie, you’ll remember, has been on the Arts Center stage multiple times as a performer, and is currently entering her junior year at College-Conservatory of Music at University of Cincinnati where she studies Musical Theatre. Thanks for the spotlight on your hometown theater, Cassie!

Virtual Field Trips

Coming Soon!

We are excited to be offering field trips that will be held virtually for our homeschoolers as well as for school groups. While it may not be the same as having our groups in-house, we are thrilled that these productions will be coming to the Arts Center stage and then streamed to homes and schools!

Clybourne Park

Virtual Play Club

The latest Virtual Play Club was a deep dive into the satirical comedy Clybourne Parkby Bruce Norris. Discussions were led by Resident Assistant Director Whitaker Gannon, who provided dramaturgical insight to the group as well.

We'd like to thank professinoal actors & Arts Center alums Clyde Voce (Sister Act, Kinky Boots [Holiday 2020]), Bevin Bell-Hall (Murder on the Orient Express, Pride & Prejudice), and Tony Falgiani (Amadeus) for being part of this reading!

Stay tuned for sign-ups to participate in our next session!
